The Thread of Care

Not just a thread or a thread of care,
Some bonds are not tied by blood,
but by trust, warmth, and silent care.
They begin without warning,
yet feel like they have always been there.
They grow in laughter and quiet tears,
in glances that say, “I am here for you always and forever.”
They ask for nothing in return,
yet give more than words can hold.
Not made from time or duty,
but from a place the heart just knows.
Like a light that never fades,
or a hand that never lets go.
Such bonds do not demand attention,
they do not rush.
They stand steady in the background,
soft, sure, and fiercely enough.
They become a part of the soul —
the safe space in a world too loud.
They do not need names or definitions,
they are deeply felt.
That’s the essence of Raksha Bandhan —
a bond not just shared, but shielded.
Not just celebrated, but protected.
A tie that asks for nothing —
except to be kept safe,
and held close —
forever.
