The Land We Call Home

This morning, the flag waves in the sky,
and my heart feels full without knowing why.
Maybe it's the colors-bright and true
or the thought of what our people went through.

Long ago, they stood in the sun and rain,
with empty hands but hearts full of pain.
They dreamed of a land where all could be free,
and they gave their lives for generations to be.

Today, we walk on paths they made,
under the shade of trees they gave.
We laugh, we love, we live without fear,
because their courage brought us here.

Freedom is not just a word to say,
it's a gift we guard every single day.
It's in the smile we give, the help we share,
the way we show each other we care.

Our country is more than land and stone,
it's the feeling of this is home.
And as long as we hold each other near,
our precious freedom will always be here.

The Thread of Care

Not just a thread or a thread of care,
Some bonds are not tied by blood,
but by trust, warmth, and silent care.
They begin without warning,
yet feel like they have always been there.
They grow in laughter and quiet tears,
in glances that say, “I am here for you always and forever.”
They ask for nothing in return,
yet give more than words can hold.
Not made from time or duty,
but from a place the heart just knows.
Like a light that never fades,
or a hand that never lets go.
Such bonds do not demand attention,
they do not rush.
They stand steady in the background,
soft, sure, and fiercely enough.
They become a part of the soul —
the safe space in a world too loud.
They do not need names or definitions,
they are deeply felt.
That’s the essence of Raksha Bandhan —
a bond not just shared, but shielded.
Not just celebrated, but protected.
A tie that asks for nothing —
except to be kept safe,
and held close —
forever.

The Quiet Magic

To all my friends, old and new,

This little poem is for each one of you.

Some of you I met years ago,

Some just recently

But, you all hold a place in my heart,

Different stories, but all a part.

We have laughed till our stomachs hurt,

Shared secrets, snacks,etc.

We stayed up late, we had long calls,

We have been each other’s rise and falls.

You all have cheered me up when I felt low,

Reminded me how strong I can grow.

You all have seen my silly, seen my deep,

And kept my trust like something to keep.

Some of us meet every day,

Some drift apart, and that’s okay.

Because true friends don’t fade with time,

They stay in heart, in soul, in rhyme.

You have taught me love without a cost,

Helped me find myself when I was lost.

In every season, wrong or right,

You’ve been my comfort, my little light.

So, on this special, simple day,

I just want to stop and say—

Thank you so much to all my friends, for all you do,

This heart feels full because of you.

Here’s to memories we are yet to make,

To real connections that never break.

To the laughs, the tears, the silly way—

Wishing each one of you a very happy friendship day 💛.
