Hold Them Close

 This poem is dedicated to all your loved ones. 

While they are here, and you can see,

Hold them close and let love be.

Give your time, each day a part,

Laugh out loud, right from the heart.

Do all you can, lend a kind hand,

Help them stand, spend a happy life and stay strong. 

Care for them when they are around, in small and big ways, and listen to what they have to say patiently, 

For time moves on, through nights and days.

When they are gone,

Sadness comes. 

The "should haves" then, will bring you pain,

For moments lost, you can't regain.

A gentle kiss, a warm hug, a smile, and a friendly word is all that it takes. 

So, open up, your heart so true when they are around. 

Say you love them deeply, show your care,smile,lend a hand, speak while you still can do. 

Value bonds when they are present. 

Do not wait for the right time or moment. 

Everyday plays a crucial part and we have no clue what's written in tomorrow's destiny. 

Tomorrow may not be the same as today. 

Life is fragile; someone alive tonight may not survive until tomorrow.
